Wyomissing Public Library will be part of a nationwide public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances.  Miss Corinne has also designed a program for children since it is never too early to begin teaching responsible financial management. Please join us for this free, informative series. 

 

Kids Event: "Saving Money Makes Cents!

Saturday, April 5, 2014  at  11:00 a.m.

Recommended for ages 4-9.  No registration is required

Max and Ruby are going shopping and have lots of spending decisions to make, but will they choose wisely?  Join us for the story of Bunny Money by Rosemary Wells as we learn the importance of saving money for the future.  Afterwards, create your own play-money for use at our pretend-play store and cash register!

"Preventing Cybercrime"

Tuesday, April 8, 2014  from  7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Join Corporal Paul M. Smith of the Computer Crime Unit of the Pennsylvania State Police to educate yourself on preventing cybercrime. Cybercrime in all of its many forms (e.g., online identity theft, financial fraud, stalking, bullying, hacking, e-mail spoofing, information piracy and forgery, intellectual property crime, and more) can, at best, wreak havoc in victims' lives through major inconvenience and annoyance.  Topics will include:

 

1.  Tips to help prevent you from becoming a victim of an Internet fraud scheme

2.  Protecting your personal information

3.  ID theft and fraud, passwords and securing your account, social networks, online shopping, online investing

4.  Resources to consult and/or complaints regarding cybercrime
