The Library will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2016 in observation of Independence Day.
You're invited!

Join Miss Joie in the Wyomissing Fourth of July Parade! Celebrate the Summer Reading theme, "On Your Mark, Get Set...Read!," by wearing your best athletic gear or dressing up like an Olympic athlete.

We are meeting at 9:00 am at the Corner of Garfield Ave. & Wyomissing Blvd.

No need to register -- hope to see you on the 4th of July!

Annual Rubber Duck Race

Sponsor a duck in our annual Rubber Duck Race fundraiser today!  The race will be held at the Stone House after the Wyomissing Fourth of July Parade. Ducks are $3 each or 4 for$10.  If your duck wins the race, you will win $100!  Second place will receive $50.  You don't need to be present to win.  All proceeds directly benefit the Library.

Ducks may be purchased at the library until July 2nd and after the Fourth of July parade at the Stone House.

Have you seen our duck?! Visit the library and snap a photo with Ducky. Be sure to use the hashtag: #wplluckyducky to win a T-shirt!

Dr. Peter Pugliese,
"The Cookie Doctor"
Saturday,  July 9th @ 1pm
 
Dr. Pugliese is a veteran of 2 wars and author of the book "The Cookie Doctor." The stories of his military service and experiences as a rural Berks County physician and world renowned skin care expert will entertain and educate his audience.

"Drone Warfare"  
with Sarah Kreps

Local author and Wyomissing High School graduate, Sarah Kreps, will join us for a discussion on her book, "Drone Warfare." 

Sarah Kreps is an Associate Professor in Cornell University's Department of Government, Adjunct Professor of Law at Cornell Law School, and the Associate Director of the Reppy Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies. Her research focuses on issues of international security, particularly questions of conflict and cooperation, alliance politics, political economy, and nuclear proliferation.  To learn more about Ms. Kreps, visit her website

Movie Night: The Danish Girl

Harry Potter Party 
 
Friday, July 29 from 7-9pm

Celebrate the release of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" and join us for an evening of trivia, treats, and a showing of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." 
Costumes encouraged and all ages are welcome! Registration required; please register online here or call the main desk. 

SPRINKLER DAY! 
Sprinkler Day will be held on Thursday, July 21 from 1-4pm.
Bring your suits and your sunscreen for an afternoon of fun in the sun! No registration required; open to ALL ages!
American Girl Club 
Tuesday, July 12 & July 26 @ 4pm

Grab your favorite American Girl doll (or Barbie, Teddy, action figure, whoever!) and join us for American Girl Club! Together, we'll learn more about Mary Ellen (1954), Felicity (1774), Kirsten (1854), and Julie (1974). We'll learn about their history and how their lives compare to our lives today and we will even make a popular snack from each time period. 
For ages 8+. Please note, anyone may attend -- you do not need an American Girl doll to participate and the club is open to boys and girls.
