Poetry Practicum
 
 Calling all poets! Join Berks County's Poet Laureate, Nancy Yeager, for our weekly poetry workshops. All levels of poets are invited to participate, and emphasis will be placed on reading and writing free verse. All you need is a notepad and a pencil.


 

Join us Thursdays from 1:30-3:00 p.m.

Fly Fishing Clinic 
Saturday, October 3, 17 & 31 @ 9:00 a.m.

Join seasoned outdoorsman and fly-fishing enthusiast, Grant Mahon, for three introductory sessions into this fast growing outdoor sport. The first session will cover tackle and gear required, the second session will go over the types of flies and bugs used for fly fishing and the final session will be a casting lesson with hands-on practice (bring those new rods to class or borrow one of Grant's).

Passion in Action Volunteer Fair
 
Saturday, October 10  from 9 a.m. to noon.
Patrons: Are you looking for somewhere meaningful to give some of your time? Through this Passion in Action Volunteer Fair, we are hoping to link local organizations with members of our community looking for ways in which to give back. Browse through the library and chat with the organizations to see if your interests match their volunteer needs.

Birdman is an ambitious technical showcase powered by a layered story and outstanding performances from Michael Keaton and Edward Norton. 

Fitness after Fifty

Are interested in starting an exercise program but have questions about how to begin?  Join us for 2 sessions by local fitness expert  and personal trainer, John Monteleone. Attendees will learn how to begin maintaining and improving the quality of life by adding fitness into your lifestyle and the importance of strength training for individuals over the age of 50. Death In the Stacks Book Club

TUTOR TIME!
 
 
Do you know a reluctant reader? Do your kids struggle with reading and writing? Could they use a little extra help? Miss Joie is here to help build their skills! This program is FREE and runs every Tuesday after school for the 2015-2016 school year by appointment ONLY. Email Miss Joie at joie@wyopublib.org for more details.

Depending on the interest, sessions will be offered for 30 minutes each week. Extra time for reading and writing can be scheduled with Miss Joie at a later date.
