Garden Volunteers Needed!

The Wyomissing Public Library is looking for volunteers to help with the light maintenance of the library grounds including weeding and watering plants.


Our volunteer gardeners meet the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month during the summer from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Calling all members of the military & their families!

 
You're invited to two very special storytimes on Wednesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 30!
The library will be honoring those who serve or have served in the United States Military as part of our "Heroes Save the World" week. If you are interested in reading your favorite picture book to our storytime kids, please email Miss Joie: joie@wyopublib.org for more information.

Poetry Practicum
 
 Calling all poets! Join Berks County's Poet Laureate, Nancy Yeager, for our weekly poetry workshops. All levels of poets are invited to participate, and emphasis will be placed on reading and writing free verse. All you need is a notepad and a pencil.


 

Join us Thursdays from 1:30-3:00 p.m.

Get Lucky with your Ducky!
 

 
Sponsor a duck for $2 in our Annual 4th of July Rubber Duck Race fundraiser. First place winner will take home $100. The second place winner will receive $50. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the race. You do not need to be present to win.
 

Ducks are on sale now through July 3rd at the library & at the Stone House on the 4th of July.
 

 
All the proceeds directly benefit the library.

IM ABLE's mission is to help all individuals realize their potential to go further and push harder than they believed possible. Once the potential is realized, the possibilities are endless.

With hand cycles, racing chairs, adaptive skis and
many other types of adaptive equipment, it is possible for
anyone to increase their fitness level! Never forget to appreciate what you CAN do! GET UP AND MOVE at this awesome demonstration by founder Chris Kaag and learn about the importance of helping others and staying active.

  Preparing for retirement will likely include the most significant financial decisions most people make during their lifetimes. Alex Pabellon, CPA, will answer questions such as: 

"How do I estimate the amount I need to have invested before I retire?" and 

"How do I define my financial needs during retirement?"

This month we will be discussing the book "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot.  Copies of the book are available at the main desk.
