In Their Shoes / Healthy Relationships

Tuesday, April. 17, 2018 | 6:00 p.m.
In recognition of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Wyomissing Library, in partnership with SafeBerks, will offer two public programs about this issue, one for adults and one for teens.
- On Tuesday, April 10th at 6:00 p.m., SafeBerks will present In Their Shoes, a program for adults. In Their Shoes is designed to help participants talk about what dating is like for today’s teens, from their perspective. It will provide a thoughtful discussion about what an unhealthy relationship looks like, and what opportunities exist to support those experiencing them.
- On Tuesday, April 17th at 6:00 p.m., teens will have an opportunity to participate in a discussion about Healthy Relationships. Since students are involved in many different types of relationships, with their families, friends, classmates and adults, this program will offer the opportunity to brainstorm about the qualities they want and deserve in a relationship. The discussion will focus on why certain behaviors that might appear innocent, may be a precursor to dangerous abusive relationships.
Registration for these programs is requested. Please contact the main desk to sign up, or use the forms below:
